Weather Fox (the "App") respects your privacy. This policy explains how the App handles personal information in accordance with applicable laws including the Republic of Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
1. Information We Collect
The App collects the following information to provide its services.
- Location data: device coordinates (latitude/longitude), used to provide weather information for your current location.
- Physical activity data: step count sensor data, used for the pedometer feature.
- Advertising identifier: Google Advertising ID, which may be collected to deliver personalized ads.
2. Purposes of Use
- Providing weather information and forecasts based on your current location.
- Destination weather comparison service.
- Pedometer (step count) feature.
- Home-screen widgets and morning briefing notifications.
- In-app advertising (native ads, rewarded ads).
- Service improvement and error analysis.
3. How Location Data Is Handled
The App does not store your location data on any server.
- Location coordinates are converted to KMA (Korea Meteorological Administration) grid coordinates (nx, ny) before any external API call.
- Grid coordinates have ~5 km resolution and cannot identify a precise location.
- Location data is used only transiently for each weather data request, never stored on a server or shared with third parties.
- You can revoke the location permission at any time from your device settings.
4. How Physical Activity Data Is Handled
- Step count data is processed only on your device and is never transmitted to a server.
- If you do not use the pedometer feature, you can revoke the physical activity permission.
5. Advertising-related Information
- The App serves advertisements through Google AdMob.
- Google AdMob may collect the advertising identifier and device information to deliver personalized ads.
- You can disable personalized ads from your device settings.

6. External Services
The App uses the following external services to provide weather data.
- Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA): weather data (only grid coordinates are sent; no personal data).
- AirKorea: air quality (fine dust) data (no personal data).
Only grid coordinates required for weather lookup are sent to these services. No personal information is provided.
7. Third-party Data Processors
The App relies on the following processors for service operation.
- Google AdMob: ad serving
Collected items: Advertising ID (GAID), device information, ad interaction data

- Firebase Analytics: app usage analytics
Collected items: event data, device information, usage patterns
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash reporting
Collected items: crash logs, device information, app state
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): push notifications
Collected items: FCM token (for device identification)
- Firebase Performance Monitoring: app performance monitoring
Collected items: app start time, network request performance
- Firebase Remote Config: in-app announcements
Collected items: installation ID (Firebase Installation ID)

We do not share or outsource your personal information to any party other than those listed above.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
- The App does not store your personal information on any server.
- Data stored on your device (weather cache, step count, settings, etc.) is deleted when you uninstall the App.
- Advertising-related data is processed according to Google's policies.
9. Your Rights
- Revoke location permission: Device Settings → Apps → Weather Fox → Permissions → Location
- Revoke physical activity permission: Device Settings → Apps → Weather Fox → Permissions → Physical activity
- Disable notifications: Device Settings → Apps → Weather Fox → Notifications
- Disable personalized ads: Device Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of personalized ads
- Delete all data: uninstalling the App removes all local data.
10. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 years of age. If we become aware that such information has been provided, we will delete it immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in laws or services. We will notify users of material changes via the App's announcements.
